Program Director | Birdie Buddies, LLC
About Coach Cyril
Cyril Bouniol, a tour professional golfer with a deep passion
for the game, created Birdie Buddies after noticing a lack of
programs tailored to toddlers and young children.
While introducing his son Luka to golf, he realized there were few opportunities designed specifically for this age group to safely
and effectively learn the basics of the game. Birdie Buddies was
created to share the lifelong benefits of golf with young children.
Drawing from his own journey in the sport and as a dad, he
designed the program to not only teach the fundamentals of
golf but also to instill core values like respect, honesty, patience, perseverance and sportsmanship. By using innovative,
age-appropriate equipment and prioritizing safety, Cyril aims to
make golf accessible and enjoyable for kids, fostering both their
love for the game and their personal development.
Birdie Buddies reflects his belief that golf is more than a sport—
it’s a tool for growth and a foundation for life skills.

A note from Cyril
I am Cyril Bouniol, a touring professional and instructor with 13 years of experience competing at the highest levels of the game. Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of playing on prestigious tours such as the DP World Tour, Challenge Tour, PGA Tour, and Korn Ferry Tour, securing seven professional wins around the globe.
I grew up in Southern France, where I was first introduced to golf at the age of 10 through a school field trip. What started as a casual pastime quickly turned into a lifelong pursuit. The local course became my sanctuary, a place where I could challenge myself, learn patience, and push my boundaries. Those early years shaped not only my skills but also my deep love for the sport and the values it represents.
My golf journey took me from the Pyrenees mountains to Abilene Christian University, where I enjoyed a remarkable collegiate golf career. I was fortunate to win the NCAA Division II Individual National Championship, the Lone Star Conference Championship, and the South Central Super Regional Individual Championship. My hard work earned me recognition as a 3-time All-American, a member of the All-Nicklaus Team, and the recipient of both the Arnold Palmer Award and the Byron Nelson Award. Representing my home country of France, I also competed in and won the European Team Championship, a defining highlight of my amateur career.
My time at ACU shaped me not only as a golfer but also as a person. It was there that I met my wonderful wife, Sharlotte. We married in 2014 and have since built a life together in Aledo, Texas, where we are raising our 4-year-old son, Luka. Golf brought us together, and it continues to be a central part of our lives as we instill its values in Luka and share its joys as a family.
Over the years, I’ve worked with some of the world’s top swing coaches, sports psychologists, and trainers, which has helped me develop a comprehensive and well-rounded approach to improving the game of golfers at every age and level
